馬尼拉交響樂團簡介
馬尼拉交響樂團始建于1926年，亞洲第一支交響樂團，樂團最初由維也納指揮家埃裏克斯.利派（Dr. Alexander Lippay）建團直到1939年他去世後卸任，之後由赫伯特.季泊（Dr. Herbert Zipper）接任，並爲該團效力30年。在1970年前後，更有多名指揮家與該團合作，如：奧斯卡.雅特歐（Oscar Yatco），海倫.誇馳(Helen Quach), 利卡拉多.宙斯 （Regalado Jose）。
馬尼拉交響樂團在2001年任命了樂團常任首席教授巴斯裏歐.馬納羅（Basilio Manalo）目前，樂團由60余名職業音樂家組成，並已在全國各地的所有主要音樂會場所演出。馬尼拉交響樂團的許多成員是職業音樂家，他們除了在管弦樂隊中發揮重要作用外，還作爲獨奏者、音樂教育者、音樂編曲者、室內樂表演者、樂隊指揮和唱詩班指揮等身份積極參與該團的文化生活。

The Manila Symphony Orchestra Profile
Founded in 1926, the Manila Symphony Orchestra (MSO) is one of Asia’s first symphony orchestras. The orchestra was established by Viennese conductor Dr.
Alexander Lippay who led the group until his death in 1939, after which Dr. Herbert Zipper succeeded him as conductor for the next 30 years.
In the 1970s, various conductors led the orchestra including Oscar Yatco, Helen
Quach, and Regalado Jose. The MSO was reorganized in 2001 by its long-time
concertmaster Prof. Basilio Manalo.
At present, the MSO is one of the most active musical institutions in the country.
Organized as a non-stock, non-profit foundation, it seeks to contribute to nation building.through its Annual Concert Series and its Rush Hour Concerts in partnership with the Ayala Museum. It is also committed to develop the future generations of musician through its youth orchestra project, the award-winning Manila Symphony Junior Orchestra (MSJO) as well as the MSO Music Academy.
MSO’s mission is to enrich the Filipino’s vibrant cultural life through fine orchestral music and to enable more people to experience the power of music. MSO aims to perform within the highest international standards and present music in a fresh,spirited, and entertaining way.

Marlon Chen是一位活躍在歌劇，芭蕾舞劇，交響樂以及室內樂舞台上的極具活力和領導力的一位才華橫溢的指揮，並且在橫跨四大洲的音樂廳舞台上極具票房號召力。
2016年，他也將繼續擔任玻利維亞音樂節的首席客座指揮，以及持續與新加坡國際音樂節和波羅的海愛樂樂團的合作，同時也擔任萊比錫交響樂團副指揮的職位。 2018年任馬尼拉交響樂團首席客座指揮。
曾與多位享有國際聲譽的指揮合作如：帕維.賈維，尼姆.賈維，庫特.馬祖爾。同時受邀于衆多世界優秀交響樂團擔任客座指揮，其中包括：巴黎管弦樂團，布達佩斯MAV交響樂團，法國民族交響樂團，保加利亞國家歌劇院，休斯頓交響樂團，萊比錫愛樂樂團，聖安東尼奧交響樂團等。
2002到2009任聖安東尼奧青年交響樂團的音樂總監，Marlon Chen所發起的宣傳計劃，吸引了數以千計的熱愛古典音樂的年輕音樂家，集中在休斯敦和聖安東尼奧地區。並舉辦了巡演，給年輕的音樂家在國際舞台上表演的機會。休斯敦紀事報曾經贊揚公開報道過他極有震撼力的演出並說“……一場美輪美奂的演出”.

Maestro Marlon Chen’s dynamic charisma and artistic versatility have led him to conduct opera, ballet, symphonic works and chamber orchestras to sold-out concert halls across four continents. In 2019, Maestro Chen continues his positions as Principal Guest Conductor of the Manila Symphony Orchestra and the Orquesta Sinfonica de Universidad de Hildalgo . He continues current appearances as Associate Conductor of the Baltic Sea Philharmonic. Previously an Assistant Conductor of the MDR Symphony Orchestra in Leipzig and the Orchestre de Paris, he was also Music Director of the award winning Maggini Ensemble and assistant to renowned conductors, Paavo Jarvi, Kristjan Jarvi, Neeme Jarvi, Myung-Whun Chung and Kurt Masur. Marlon Chen appears as guest conductor on both sides of the Atlantic with many of the world’s finest orchestras including Ensemble Orchestral de Paris, National Orchestra d’ile de France, MAV Orchestra Hungary, English School of Opera Festival Orchestra London, Bulgarian State Opera, Moldova Chamber Orchestra, Winnipeg Symphony, the San Antonio Symphony, Orchestre de Paris, Bolivian Festival Orchestra, Singapore International Music Festival Orchestra, the Baltic Philharmonic and the MDR Orchestra of Leipzig. Highlights in the upcoming season include the Malaysia Philharmonic, MDR Orchestra of Leipzig, Philharmonique de Radio France, Baltic Philharmonic.

馬尼拉交響樂團首席，Saraza，出生于音樂世家，三歲跟隨父親學琴。獲得聖斯考拉斯蒂卡學院全額獎學金並在Virna Valerio、Basilio Manalo、Arturo Molina等教授的指導下學習。

Concertmaster:DIOMEDES SARAZA JR
Background in Music :
Born to a family of musicians, Mr. Saraza started playing the violin at the age of three with his father. He received a full-scholarship from St. Scholastica’s College of Music to study under Virna Valerio, Prof. Basilio Manalo, and Prof. Arturo Molina.
Mr. Saraza was a frequent soloist of The Philippines Research for Developing Instrumental Soloist (PREDIS) and also served as concertmaster of the PREDIS Children’s Orchestra in the Philippines. At 8 years old, Mr. Saraza was selected to represent the Philippines in the 45th year Suzuki Music Convention in Tokyo, Japan. At the age of 13, Mr. Saraza became the youngest member of the Manila Symphony Orchestra.
In 2002, Mr. Saraza gained attention and became a prominent violinist in the Philippines after winning first place at the National Music Competition for Young Artists eventually performing Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto with the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra. He performed all-over the Philippines as a recitalist, chamber musician and was featured soloist by the Manila Symphony Orchestra and the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2003, he made his concert debut at the Cultural Center of the Philippines entitled “The Gift” which was later awarded as “best performance of 2003” by the Manila Bulletin.
In 2005, Mr. Saraza moved to New York and was awarded a full-scholarship to pursue his violin studies at the Mannes School of Music Preparatory Division under the tutelage of Dr. Chin Kim. From 2006 to 2008, Mr. Saraza attended the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival and was featured at the opening ceremony performing Khachaturian’s Violin Concerto. In 2007, he won the Friday-Woodmere Young Artist Competition in Hewlett, NY and was featured in WQXR 96.3’s Rob Sherman’s “Young Artist Showcase.” In 2008, he won the Mannes Concerto Competition and performed with the Mannes Philharmonic under the baton of maestro Michael Adelson. Mr. Saraza also served as concertmaster of the Mannes Philharmonic from 2008-2009. In 2009, Mr. Saraza led his chamber group called the Mannes Chamber Initiative to win the top prize of the American Teacher’s League Competition and was featured at Carnegie Hall in New York. In 2009, Mr. Saraza graduated from Mannes School of Music with class distinction and visited the Philippines to have his sold-out homecoming concert entitled “Symphonic Virtuosity” playing Paganini’s Violin Concerto with the Manila Symphony Orchestra and maestro Christoph Poppen of the German Radio Philharmonic.
Mr. Saraza received both his Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degree from the Juilliard School in 2015. He studied with Stephen Clapp, Lewis Kaplan and Joseph Lin. During his time at the Juilliard School, Mr. Saraza was the recipient of the Irene Diamond Graduate Fellowship, Ruth Katzman Scholarship, Juilliard Alumni scholarship and the C.V. Starr Scholarship. He was also featured in Juilliard’s highly esteemed events such as the Chamberfest, Sonatenabend and the Focus! festival. Mr. Saraza served as assistant concertmaster of the Juilliard School Orchestra and was a member of the Juilliard Lab Orchestra. Outside the school, Mr. Saraza was featured as soloist of the New York Symphonic Arts Ensemble for three consecutive years performing Paganini’s violin concerto, Tchaikovsky’s violin concerto and Mendelssohn’s violin Concerto. He was also invited by Sichuan Philharmonic Orchestra in Chengdu, China for a performance of Sibelius Violin Concerto.
Mr. Saraza was accepted at the Perlman Music Program, Aspen Music Festival, and Bowdoin International Music Festival. Mr. Saraza also received guidance and has worked with major classical figures such as Glen Dicterow, Cho-liang Lin, Sarah Chang, Itzhak Perlman, Vadim Repin, Christian Tetzlaff, David Finckel, Joseph Kalichstein, and members of the Emerson Quartet, Brentano Quartet, Ying Quartet, Orion Quartet, Juilliard String Quartet, Miro String Quartet, and Shanghai Quartet.
