Run For Light turns 5 in 2020! The 2020 edition will see a new category introduced, the “Ekiden 5KM Challenge”. Other categories are the symbolic 1KM blindfold walk, 5KM fun run and 10KM individual run. The “Ekiden 5KM Challenge” and 10KM run are timed categories and podium winners will win cash and trophies.

Blindfold Walk
The 1KM blindfold walk resonates very much to the sacred mission of Guide Dogs Singapore Limited (GDS) to help the visually impaired in enhancing their quality of life. Participants for this category will get to experience walking while being blindfolded over a 1KM distance.
Ekiden 5km challengeTo celebrate the 5th edition of Run For Light, Ekiden 5KM Challenge is introduced. It is a team-based challenge of 5 runners and each runner will need to complete a 5KM run (total distance of 25KM per team). First runner of the team will be handed a sash which has to be passed to the second runner upon completing the 5KM run until the 5th or last runner has completed the final 5KM. The gun time taken from the sash will determine the fastest team of the day. The team can comprise of the same gender or mixed gender. The fastest team will be crowned as the champion.
