(Aug.9, 2019, /staffingindustry.com/)Global staffing provider PageGroup plc reported revenue rose 9.5% in constant currency in the first half of the year ended June 30.
PageGroup reported its UK business was affected by continued uncertainty regarding Brexit. It noted strength in its US operations.
“In the US, we saw particularly strong performances from our offices outside of New York, with notable results from our offices in Boston, Chicago, Houston and Los Angeles,” according to the company.
Gross profit in the US was up 23% while Canadian gross profit fell 8%.
And while Greater China experienced challenges, the company reported it saw standout performances in India and Singapore where gross profit rose 50% and 22%, respectively.
In the UK, gross profit fell 0.3%.
On the other hand, PageGroup noted that Europe, the Middle East and Africa performed strongly. France, which represents about a third of the region, saw gross profit rise by 7%. German gross profit rose by 24% with strong performance from its interim technology business, according to the company.
