吳瑞衡，字山而，男，１９３８年２月生，江蘇省太倉人。江蘇省太倉市璜泾中學高級教師。１９６１年畢業于南京師範大學中文系，１９９４年畢業于中國書畫函授大學國畫系。。現爲中國書畫家聯誼會會員，中國文化藝術發展促進會會員，中原書畫研究院藝術顧問，中國文化藝術城高級書畫師，曹州青年書畫院名譽院長，南京師範大學語言教學研究中心研究員。專攻山水，兼習詩詞，篆刻創作。作品在國內、國際書畫大賽中多次獲獎並赴美國、日本、新加坡、台灣、香港等地展出。作品及傳略被收入《東方書畫長城巨卷》、《世界華人書畫作品選集》、《中國當代美術家書法家漢英辭典》、《世界華人文學藝術界名人錄》等辭書。榮獲“世界功勳藝術家”、“世界書畫藝術名人”等榮譽稱號。現爲中國書畫家聯誼會會員高級書畫師。吳瑞衡的《溪山秋瀑》圖頗具神韻，意境清新，明顯具有文人畫的特征，而吳瑞衡本人，也的確是個名副其實的文人。
吳先生１９６１年畢業于南京師範大學中文系，在校學的是狹義的文，即中國文學和語言。畢業後到中學執教，教的是語文，仍然沒有脫離狹義的文。他是一個肯鑽研、有成就的高級教師，教學之余，參與編著了《高中古文注釋解說》《文言文讀練指導》和《高中語文單元複習指導》等書；他還是一位文學才華出衆的文士，發表過詩歌、散文、特寫，被社會承認爲詩人。他年屆半百時還認真學習中國水墨畫，由于文學功底深厚，還具繪畫天賦，因而能夠很快地掌握基本技巧，並迅速進入創作階段。所繪水墨山水，以清新淡雅取勝，常常參展，獲得獎勵，多幅作品被輯入綜合畫冊。

文人畫不強調形似，但強調借物抒發性靈和寄托思緒。所以，文人畫創作的最高境界表現爲其作者綜合修養的形象定格。近代著名畫家陳衡恪曾說：“文人畫有四個要素：人品、學問、才情和思想，具此四者，乃能完善。”吳先生多年任教，爲人師表，其傳略被錄入《中國中學骨幹教師辭典》，想必人品不錯；從他的語言、文學著述可以看出，他的學問、才情和思想也不低；繪畫亦有才情，單是《溪山秋瀑》中用以繪山的筆墨形態及其結構，就極具個性，不同于他人。如此說來，他晚學國畫而成才，也就不足爲怪了。
吳先生自１９９０年以來多次參加國際、國內書畫大賽，獲獎達５０次以上。作品多次入展國內、國際書畫大展，作品被選送日本、美國、韓國、新加坡等地參展。其作品與藝曆編入《２０世紀中華畫苑掇英大畫冊》《東方書畫長城巨卷》《中國書畫家作品精選》《世界華人書畫作品選集》《當代中國書畫名人圖錄》《中國美術選集》《中國中學骨幹教師辭典》《中國高級專業技術人才辭典》《世界名人錄》等辭書。１９８３年獲市教育先進工作者；１９９３年獲“中外書畫鑒賞家”、“世界銅獎藝術家”、“世界銀獎藝術家”、“世界書畫藝術名人”等榮譽稱號。多次獲國際國內書畫大賽金獎、銀獎、銅獎、一等獎、二等獎、三等獎、精品獎、佳作獎、優秀獎等獎項。
