Hunan University (simplified Chinese: 湖南大學), in Changsha, Hunan province, is a member of Project 985 and Project 211, which are sponsored by the Ministry of Education of China and working towards to becoming a world-class university. (國家“雙一流”建設高校”)

Hunan University initiated first material degree programme under the division of metallurgy in 1943. The majors in silicate, casting, metal corrosion and metal physics were found in 1958. In 1986, the discipline of materials science was approved to be the second-level discipline. It was then promoted to be the first-level discipline in 2000, including the second level disciplines of inorganic nonmetallic materials, metallic materials, materials physics, and materials processing engineering. This leads to the college of Materials Science and Engineering at Hunan University.2000年獲材料科學與工程一級學科博士學位授予權，同時成立材料科學與工程學院。

Now the College has 79 faculty members and staff. Among the faculty members there are 2 Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (part-time), 6 “Thousand Talents Program” (國家千人計劃)professors, 1 Yangtse River Professor of the Ministry of Education（長江學者特聘教授）, 1 winner of National Distinguished Youth Foundation（國家傑出青年基金）, 1 “Ten Thousand Talents Program” （國家萬人計劃）professor, 4 winners of Distinguished Youth Foundation of Hunan Province. The College of Materials Science and Engineering hosts 7 key laboratories and/or research centers of Ministry of Education and/or Hunan Province.In 2017, the Essential Science Indicators (ESI)’S rank in the discipline of materials science is world top 0.23%.（材料科學ESI排名位于世界前0.23%）

The College of Materials Science and Engineering is seeking outstanding young scientists for multiple faculty positions in all areas of materials science at different levels. Competitive salary and/or benefits and attractive start-up packages will be provided for the newly recruited faculty.

who are we looking for

(1) Recipients of “The National Thousand Young Talents”, “China National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars” and other high-level young talent programs. (under the age of 40)

國家“千人計劃”青年項目：從事自然科學或工程技術領域研究，年齡不超過40周歲；應取得博士學位，並有3年以上連續海外科研工作經曆；在海外知名高校、科研機構或知名企業研發機構有正式教學或科研職位。入選後全職來校工作。已經在國內工作的，回國時間應在一年以內。

(2) The young scientists with good academic and research records, and are competitive for full professor, associate professor and assistant professor. The school will support their application for “The 100 Young talents” of Hunan Province and/or “Yuelu Scholar” of Hunan University. (under the age of 40)

湖南省“百人計劃”青年項目：年齡不超過40周歲；具有博士學位，並具有3年以上海外科研工作經曆；回國前在海外知名高校、科研機構或知名企業研發機構有正式教學或科研職位。引進後全職來校工作。
